Zinc
Zinc is a mineral that is present in the body in small amounts, performing various functions. It is a mineral found in keratin, crucial for the proper activity of the germ cells in the hair matrix. Zinc deficiency leads to weakened hair and slows the rate of growth. It is also one of the most useful micronutrients to support immune defences, stimulating the proper functioning of the thymus. It acts mainly against influenza viruses and bacterial infections.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is stored in the liver. Most of the vitamin D in our body is accumulated through exposure to sunlight. It is particularly known for its function in bones and teeth calcification, but today it is also studied and used for its contribution to the functions of the immune system.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a vitamin that must be ingested through the diet, because the human body is unable to synthesise it. Helps to raise immune-system barriers and reduces fatigue and tiredness. Vitamin C also has strong antioxidant properties: it fights the free radicals responsible for cellular ageing. It is also essential for collagen biosynthesis, because it is responsible for the transformation of two structural amino acids that are characteristic of this protein.
Pau d'Arco
Pau d'arco is a common tree in South America. A substance with antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antioxidant and decongestant properties can be obtained from its bark. It is useful in the prevention of seasonal illnesses, as it boosts the body's natural defences by helping to combat infections in the upper airways.
Sea buckthorn
Sea buckthorn is a shrub whose berries have a high vitamin concentration, especially vitamin C but also vitamins A, E, P and numerous other group B vitamins, as well as minerals and other beneficial substances. It has fortifying and invigorating properties.
