Parabens are preservatives. Some types (e.g., isobutylparaben) are no longer permitted for cosmetic use. Others, while still approved within specific safety limits, are suspected endocrine disruptors. As a precaution, Goovi has chosen not to include any parabens in its formulas.

SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) and SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) are surfactants used in many cosmetics for their cleansing and foaming properties. Although effective, they can be irritating when used alone. That’s why Goovi uses balanced combinations of milder surfactants to minimize the risk of irritation, while still ensuring gentle cleansing.

PEGs (polyethylene glycols) are synthetic, petroleum-derived compounds used as emulsifiers and surfactants. While generally considered safe, highly ethoxylated PEGs may contain traces of dioxane, a substance with known toxicological concerns. For both environmental and safety reasons, PEGs are not used in Goovi formulas.

Silicones form an occlusive film on skin and hair, which may temporarily improve texture and shine. However, over time they can block natural hydration and oxygenation. This may lead to clogged pores, breakouts, or dull, heavy hair that becomes greasy more quickly. For this reason, Goovi formulas are 100% silicone-free.

Natural ingredients that undergo fermentation become more bioavailable, better tolerated by sensitive skin, and more effective overall.
